Types And Properties Of Magnetic Materials

Time: 2024-09-23 Hits: 0

Magnetic materials are an essential part of the manufacturing of objects such as electric motors and data storage devices. Different types of these materials have different properties and therefore it is important to appreciate them when utilizing these materials.

Ferromagnetic Materials

Ferromagnetic materials, for example, iron, nickel, and cobalt are known to have huge magnetic properties. These materials become magnetic on the application of a magnetic field and their magnetism is not removed immediately after they are removed from the magnetic field.

Paramagnetic Materials

Paramagnetic materials almost include aluminum and platinum, these materials are weakly attracted towards a magnetic field. These materials just display slight positive magnetic susceptibility and hence are good in applications where permanent magnetism is not essential.

Diamagnetic Metals

In most cases, copper, gold, and any other diamagnetic material are weakly repelled by a magnetic field. Also, these materials apply small negative magnetic susceptibility and they are useful in applications that need magnetic shielding.

Rare Earth Magnets

Rare earth magnates which include the neodymium magnets are some of the strongest permanent magnets known to man. These types of magnets are employed where the application of high magnetic fields is a prerequisite for functionality eg. windmills and MRI machines.

QD MAGNET offers different types of magnetic materials including neodymium magnets because they recognize that clients have different needs. More than just a vendor with quality magnetic solutions, QD MAGNET focuses on constant progression and innovation thus technological advancement.
